My current Obsession: Outdoor spaces!

I love, love, love being outside! (Although this Texas, summer heat is beginning to put a
damper on it all) I find myself drawn to small patios with lots of
greenery, a splash of color & a comfy place to relax. Honestly, take any cozy space with plenty of texture, add some beautiful vines & a few strings of light and I’m sold.

As summer rolls around, many of the magazines we receive are
focused on outdoor living. I find myself enjoying mail time & imagine myself sipping wine with friends in these
featured spaces. Some of my current favorites include:

Anything that makes me feel like I am in a Japanese tea garden or
is flooded with Asian lanterns
White lights & vines twisting overhead! Especially when it looks like an Italian winery or farm; where I am about to indulge in a huge, evening meal
Vintage seating/atmosphere with a variety of colorful Bohemian fabric & pillows strewn about; like you might see in the “home” section of Anthropologie

A little about myself…

My name is Jenae Telfer and I am a recovering Elementary School Teacher who landed the best management job when I met Mary in 2006. I have a great appreciation for interior design, architecture & photography and work with the most talented people I know. I have been happily in Austin for 10 years now, although take ANY chance to travel. The further & more remote, the better!

I also love animals, especially my two Boston Terriers that pretty much own me. I am a fan of positive attitudes & LOVE and I’m always up for a night out of live music, good food and good friends.

What does my house look like? Clean!! I would describe my own personal style as contemporary with a touch of vintage Asian & Polynesian, island flare. I absolutely love a variety of texture; exposed stone & wood, but softened by colorful rugs and fabric. I can’t seem to get out of my color green loving phase…I guess it’s my desire to bring the outside into my home.

Mary DeWalt Design Group Takes Home the Gold

Mary DeWalt Design Group was awarded a gold Max Award at the HBA of Greater Austin’s 20th annual Marketing and Advertising Excellence Awards Gala held at the Renaissance Hotel on Saturday, May 14th. The winning entry was:

Best Interior Merchandising of a model home priced between $600,000 and $750,000
Grand Haven Homes – The Estates of the Ranch at Brushy Creek
